MEET THE CHALLENGE!
All quilters --- we need your help three (3) ways for the Priority quilt auction sponsored by Ami Simms to raise $$$$ for Alzheimer’s Disease research:
1) Make mini quilts, any theme and technique, maximum size 9” x 12” (to fit into
a USPS “Priority” mailer without folding).
2) Purchase one of these little quilts at www.amisimms.com , see “Art Quilt
Initiative”, then “auction”.
3) Both make and buy these precious quilts.
NOTE: All money goes to Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) research!
The challenge is to make 1000 “Priority” mini quilts with “neighborly” competition between Illinois and Wisconsin quilters.
HERE”S WHAT WE NEED!
- Quilts no larger than (9” wide x 12” long) in any theme, style or technique.
- Embellishments must be secure to withstand handling by the USPS.
- NOTE: If the design is from a pattern, not your own design, then WRITTEN PERMISSION from the designer to use the design must be obtained before submitting your quilt and accompany your quilt when submitting it.
- When you donate your quilt, all design rights remain with the designer except the right to exhibit, sell & publish for the purpose of fundraising by Mallery Press, Inc. (see www.amisimms.com for more information!).
Stop in at Quilting Family Quilt Shop to see sample Priority Quilts, pick up a registration form, turn in your finished quilts or for further information. Finished quilts will be picked up by Alexandra (Sandy) Schweitzer, AQS Certified Appraiser & Quilt Artist (and friend of Quilting Family).
Look for upcoming dates when Quilting Family Quilt Shop will host Priority Quilt Days here in the shop for interested quilters to get together and make Priority Quilts. They’re small, quick and imaginative! We can do this and beat Wisconsin!
